Magnifying tools have always been a better solution than getting close to the screen for a better view. Simply named Magnifying Glass, developed by 4 Neurons, it's a fun and better looking alternative to conventional magnifying tools.

Installing it on your machine requires downloading a small, 243 Kb package. The application is just one desktop gadget, so the entire installation process lasts only a few seconds.

Run the application and the next thing you'll notice on your screen will be a large, cartoonish magnifying glass that will make you feel like Sherlock Holmes. You can click and drag it anywhere and it will magnify anything. The magnified image's quality is quite good and you can set the magnifying glass for a sharper or softer view. This is done simply by right clicking the gadget and choose from the pop up menu. You can also choose a "fun" view which distorts the image like a real magnifying glass.

Pros

This little application is a fun alternative to standard, boring, magnifying tools.

Cons

Some extra customization options would have made it more fun. There are also a few compatibility issues, but nothing too serious. Standard magnifying tools don't offer the same quality and feel that 4 Neurons' Magnifying Glass does.
